Total canal length is 3.8 km. Width of the canal up to the confluence of Bolgoda canal is about 10 m and thereafter it varies up to 24 m. The spans of the Galle Road bridge and the Railway Bridge are 17 m and 15 m respectively.

Main scope of this sub project includes;

  – Canal bank protection.

  – Rehabilitation of Operation & Maintenance (O & M) Road and side drains.

  – Removal of rock outcrops from the canal bed.
